About this blog
As of Jan 2009, I'm using this blog to record my journey to achieving my goals and aspirations (particularly my new year resolutions). Perhaps, setting new year resolutions may be a futile process. More often than not, I face failure rather than success. However, hopefully, writing them down will hold me more accountable for them which in turn, will push me to achieve these goals.
Below are some of my goals (others are too personal) for 2009:
Personal growth #1: To have a time of reflection and planning for an uninterrupted one-hour per week. #2: To end my nights by planning for the next day. #3: To not procrastinate. Start the day by doing the most important things first.
Community #4: Write at least one letter per month to my sponsored child #5: Send at least one card/letter to someone every fortnight #6: To make others feel significant by being a good listener and encourager.
Health #7: To lose 2 kgs of fat (I’ve put on 2 kgs in 2008) #8: To reduce my sodium and cholesterol levels. (Have another blood test in a year’s time) #9: Reduce my sodium levels by having at least two salt-less meals in a week. #10: To start my day with fruits in the morning. #11: To take my vitamins and supplements every single day. #12: To run at least twice a week. #13: To train for and join at least one half marathon in 2009.
Travel #14: To visit at least one city/country I’ve not traveled to before.
Hobbies #15: To improve my photoshop skills. #16: To paint/sketch/draw at least 6 items. (One every 2 months) #17: To finish that painting to hang in my living room #18: To cook 12 new dishes per year (One every month)
Knowledge #19: To read at least 24 books in 2009 (one fictional and one non-fictional each month) #20: To learn chinese
